The Living Room is set up with comfortable seating with upholstered chairs and a couch. The original fireplace with its stone mantle reminds of the use of the house as a country cabin by the Beecher family.
The exquisite mural by Father Nyokyu Maxima, a Japanese artist and Greek Orthodox priest and friend of Sōen Rōshi, depicts the transmission of the Dharma from Shakyamuni Buddha to Mahākāśyapa. When the Beecher House served as the first place of practice at the Dai Bosatsu Zendo property, the Living Room served as the Dharma Hall where daily services and ceremonies were conducted.
